New Impressions: Andrea Russett, Yungblud, Boy In Space, Anderson .Paak, and more!

Andrea Russett has been carefully calculating that jump from internet star to musician. The past few months have been loaded with covers on social media, teasers from vocal lessons and studio sessions, and genuine passion from Russett’s end. While many social stars have made the pivot to musical artist, many fall short of a career defining track that isn’t just a gimmick. Andrea Russett is the real deal. “Darkest Hour” is a melancholic soft pop tune that lays her vulnerabilities on the line. Her natural vocal ability really ties in to the authentic pain behind her lyrics. Watch the lyric video for “Darkest Hour” below and stream it on our New Impressions playlist.

Yungblud has a bass powered song for listeners this week. “cotton candy” is a sexual liberation anthem using pop sensibilities as the vehicle. This is the second single from the UK native’s sophomore release Weird! which is set to be released on November 13th via Locomotion/Polydor Records.

Boy In Space is the definition of raw unfiltered talent. A strong songwriter with a knack for electro-pop, Boy In Space has a firm grasp on songs that become earworms. The final single of 2020 has arrived. “Therapy” is a collaboration with fellow Swedish artist NOTD. On the single Boy In Space says, “I’ve been going through a lot of shit lately, so I wanted to write a song from my point of view. I hope people can relate and that ‘Therapy’ gets less stigma so that people aren’t afraid of getting help,” Watch the music video for “Therapy” below and get ready for new music coming in 2021.

Anderson .Paak is providing some sunshine during these cold fall months with a funky new track. The animated music video for “Jewelz” features some quirky visuals that match the songs eclectic beat. Watch the music video below.

Other additions to the playlist this week include new songs from Cheat Codes with Bryce Vine, Daya, Alexander 23, Roosevelt, and Q.
