COIN have been taking over every possible Spotify playlist and putting on stunning live shows for some time. Their winter headlining tour with Tessa Violet hit New York City this past weekend. These are their first shows for 2019 and they have been steadily selling out. Fans braved the cold for this late show. While most fans on line were complaining about the long wait in to the venue, their anger quickly turned to pure joy when the show started. COIN seems to have an older crowd of fans, but they were all eager and ready to start jumping along once they grabbed their drinks and the show got started.
Tessa Violet lit up the room with sing-a-longs, a quirky personality, and sweet mini stage setup to light up their tight space allotment. Tessa Violet incorporates electronic elements into her daring pop tracks and her song Girl Crush is the epitome of feel-good music. Jess Bowen joined on the drums and brought her staple monstrous sound to the set. She passionately sets the beat for each song and she’s just mesmerizing to watch.
The two band bill made it a short and sweet show, but COIN’s set began and instantly made it feel like time slowed down. Everyone was dancing along and the stunning production set up made the tiny club venue feel like a sophisticated arena show. Their set incorporated all of the bangers and had fans singing along all night long. You can purchase tickets for the upcoming dates here.
