BETWEEN FRIENDS were on our list of Breakout Impressions for 2018. Rightfully so because this “DIY based laptop dream pop project group” is creating some of our favorite tunes. A regular on our New Impressions playlist feature, BETWEEN FRIENDS incorporates synth laden elements with soothing simple vocals and tasty lo-fi visuals. Their latest music video for Affection ties together vintage vibes with mesmerizing colors and the catchy melody that leaves you singing “I’m looking for affection in all the wrong places” long after you’ve stopped listening.
The band is highly imaginative with their visuals. Their lyrical content is just as well thought out as the aesthetically pleasing visuals. The highs and lows of relationships and feelings are deeply felt through this musical treat. There is a certain sense of pleasure that comes with just feeling your emotions properly and embracing it all, even the low points. BETWEEN FRIENDS lures you in to that pleasure point.
