Ariana Grande saved October by announcing her single and new album Positions with about two weeks notice for fans. As she does with every release, it’s a new side of Grande. This time around she’s being more daring and explicit for her sixth studio album. This is a welcome transition for fans that have been growing alongside her since her Victorious days. Men constantly release “filthy” records and now women are unapologetically singing about what satisfies them. This one will be a memorable experience once touring comes back. Listen to “nasty” on our New Impressions playlist.
Bring Me The Horizon have been staples in the alternative scene for years. Through their transitions from straight hardcore band to incorporating electronic elements to making pop infused tunes, they’re back and better than ever. POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR channels all of the frustration of the past 10 months into 9 songs. The raw and gritty tracks feature Oli Sykes signature vocals that still air on the side of caution after years of vocal strain. This doesn’t take away from the record at all. The band is still uniquely blending synth elements and playing around with production that gives you goosebumps as it weaves through heart pumping guitar rhythms and soft whispers. This is the band’s best work to date. Listen to “1X1” feat. Nova Twins on our playlist.
Everyone loves a great cover that completely reimagines the original. On the eve of their Forever Halloween celebration, The Maine have released a dreamy cover of Harry Styles’ hit “Watermelon Sugar”. If Fleetwood Mac and The Cranberries ever covered “Watermelon Sugar” this is probably what it would sound like. Watch the music video below.
MOD SUN dropped a snarky pop track named “Karma“. The alt-pop tune is a fun and biting hit reminiscent of the 2010s alternative era. The lighthearted melody really adds an extra punch to the honest lyrics. Dedicate this track to that one specific person in your life that deserves some karma.
This Halloweekend is stacked with new music. Other additions to our New Impressions playlist include tracks from FEVER 333, Noah Gundersen, Bright Eyes x Phoebe Bridgers, and Sam Smith. Take our playlist on the go by following here.
